These are well-known, highly proven shamanic healing techniques that I have been trained in.  They do not come from any one tradition, but are instead part of what is referred to as "core shamanism," commonalities between all cultures the world over.  Sandra Ingerman refers to this as "direct revelation," where the helping Spirits are the ones who inform the healing.  My Swedish teachers of the Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies believe the shaman works by asking [the Spirits] for help,
